Gilda began her career as an educator, teaching students and coaching teachers. It was during COVID when Gilda was gripped by the vast need to make a greater impact on those around her. Since then, she has found her perfect fit in life as a therapist. She is passionate about meeting clients where they are and helping them journey toward their goals and on to healing.
Gilda draws from her training and life experiences to create a safe place for clients to share their story, process their pain, and overcome the obstacles in their path. Gilda enjoys working with individuals and couples struggling with trauma/PTSD, Complex-PTSD, developmental trauma, vicarious trauma, Sports Trauma Stress Disorder (STSD), self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and grief. She specializes in working with clients who have encountered trauma or struggle to find a sense of self.
Gilda is gifted in seeing others' value and teaching them to recognize their self-worth. She empowers clients in understanding why they are experiencing difficulty and how to overcome their specific challenges. Gilda incorporates multiple modalities depending on each client's needs and goals. She uses interventions from Somatic Psychology, Internal Family Systems, Narrative therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Healing Our Core Issues, Strengths-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Gilda is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting Levels 1-3, EMDR for Couples, EMDR for Children, EMDR for Eating Disorders, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Couples Intensives, and Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counseling.

Gilda has a Masters in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College. She is under the clinical supervision of Stephanie Grissom (License #2189).
